Port Townsend Art Walk - 1st Saturday Each Month
The first Saturday of each month, more than 20 galleries and alternative spaces across Port Townsend keep their doors open late for Art Walk! From 5 to 8 p.m., many venues offer light refreshments and snacks, share demonstrations, and invite visitors to meet artists while diving deeper into the making process.

Use Chevy Chase Beach Cabins as your base camp and take advantage of the State Park - Discovery Pass Free Days which include: March 9th (Billy Frank Junior's Birthday), March 19th (State Parks’ Birthday), April 22nd (Earth Day), June 7th and 8th (Free Fishing Weekend) and more.There are many wonderful places to visit on the Olympic Peninsula including Fort Worden, Fort Flagler and many more (many of which are dog friendly). Hurricane Ridge - Winter season - now thru march
Chevy Chase Beach Cabins is the perfect home base to explore the Olympic Peninsula and Hurricane Ridge is a wonderful winter day trip. Hurricane Ridge is a wonderful winter day trip. Typically snow-covered Hurricane Ridge is a great place for snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing and more. Hurricane Ridge Road is scheduled to be open Saturdays and Sundays through some holidays through March, typically opening at 9 am and closing by 4 pm (weather permitting). Brewtopia - Crafted in Port Townsend 1/30 - 2/1
Strange Brewfest may be on “pause” this year, but there is still an incredible lineup of local breweries, wineries, cideries, meaderies, distilleries and taprooms ready to welcome you. Brewtopia is a self-guided craft beverage tour in Port Townsend. Grab your favorite designated driver and sip, savor and enjoy the local scenery. Port Townsend Red Wine & Chocolate Tour - 2/14 & 2/15
Make a weekend of it - bring your partner or your besties - Stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and enjoy two days of delicious wine and chocolate. The Port Townsend Wine & Chocolate Tour includes FairWinds Winery, Eaglemount Wine and Cider, Port Townsend Vineyards, and Castle & Crown Cellars. Sound Check - 2/27 and 2/28
Sound Check is a free, all-ages winter event in Port Townsend celebrating local creativity with hands-on activities, and performances. Friday night (at the Fairgrounds) features a community pasta feed and all ages DJ dance party. Saturday features the creation station, food vendors, artists, music and more in downtown Port Townsend. 2026 Whale Watching Season
Puget Sound Express kicks off their 2026 whale watching season in Port Townsend on February 28th. In the late spring and summer months there are several whale species that can be seen including humpbacks, killer whales, minke whales and even gray whales. Port Townsend Farmer’s Market
Jefferson County Farmers Market hosts three wonderful farmers markets in Jefferson County, Washington— the Port Townsend Saturday and Wednesday Farmers Markets and the Chimacum Farmers Market on Sundays.
Be sure to stop by for live music, local produce, eggs, meat, cheese, baked goods, and various local artists. It is the perfect spot to wander, graze and soak in the local flavor or do some serious shopping. We love our Farmers Market!

Victorian Heritage Festival 4/24-4/26
Port Townsend is one of only three American Victorian Seaports listed on the National Registry of Historical Places. Come immerse yourself in the charms of Port Townsend and the history. Events include Victoria Open House, afternoon tea, walking tours and more. Learn more.
Rhody Festival - 5/13-5/17
Stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and experience the Rhododendron festival in Port Townsend. The Rhododendron festival is a local celebration which includes which includes a trike race, pet parade, kiddies parade, bed races, grand parade, Rhody run, and so much more.

Wooden Boat Festival 9/11-9/13
This year Port Townsend will be hosting the 49th Wooden Boat Festival. Featuring 250+ wooden vessels, indoor and outdoor presentations and demonstrations, a boat building competition, sailing adventures and more. Learn more. First Night - NYE Celebration For All Ages
Stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and ring in the New Year in Port Townsend. Take part in First Night (put on by the Production Alliance) which is an all-ages New Year’s Eve extravaganza in downtown Port Townsend featuring live music, circus arts, interactive art, history and art exhibits, fireworks, food vendors and more. The family fun typically starts at 3 p.m. on December 31st.
Port Townsend Treelighting Celebration 12/6
An annual Port Townsend tradition. Santa is coming to town! Kick off the holiday season with some small-town charm. The festivities begin at Pope Marine Park with Santa visits on the Kiwanis Choo Choo at 2 p.m. The Wild Rose Chorale will be out and about singing merry tunes in downtown Port Townsend. At 4:00 p.m. Santa will be at Haller Fountain to light the Community Tree. There will be an Art Walk that evening as well as Salish Sea Makers Market at the Cotton Building. PT Magic of Christmas 12/4-12/8
Kick off the holiday season at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and enjoy a Christmas festival in Port Townsend - The Magic of Christmas - Santa’s Circus. Visit with or write a letter to Santa in his workshop, play some reindeer games, elf arts & crafts, (at the Cotton Building) enjoy holiday cookies and cocoa, music and more. Small Business Saturday 11/29
Saturday, November 29th is a day to celebrate and support small businesses - there are so many great shops and restaurants in Port Townsend (and Chevy Chase Beach Cabins is a small business too). Get a jump on the holiday season with some gifts from local vendors.
Holiday Arts and Crafts/Makers Market
A great way to kick off your holiday shopping and support local businesses for Small Business Saturday. Visit the Port Townsend Arts Guild - 34th annual Arts & Crafts Fair - Friday, November 28th and Saturday, November 29th at the Port Townsend Community Center from 12-5. On Saturday, November 29th you can also check out the Harvest Craft Fair with Salish Sea Makers Market hosted at Finnriver from 12-4.
Winter Ice Village and Ice Skating - PORT ANGELES 11/21-1/5
Stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and enjoy a day trip to Port Angeles to lace up some ice skates at the Winter Ice Village. A fun time for the family. Open noon to 9 p.m. daily with ice resurfacing at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Holiday Lights
Use Chevy Chase Beach Cabins for your base to kick off the holiday season. Check out the holiday lights on the streets of downtown Port Townsend and in and around the area. In addition to the cute downtown areas make sure to check out the amazing holiday light display in Blyn (on the way to Sequim) throughout the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Properties (over 3 million LED lights) as well as see the thousands of lights that brighten the historic railroad bridge crossing the Dungeness River on Olympic Discovery Trail at Railroad Bridge Park (the lights can be enjoyed from dusk to 9 p.m.) in Sequim.
PT Downtown Trick or Treat & Parade - 10/31
Looking for something to do Halloween weekend this year? Stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and enjoy a cozy fall getaway and enjoy a fun filled Halloween with the annual Downtown Trick or Treat and Parade. The parade will start at 4 pm with trick or treating to follow. Thanks to the Port Townsend Main Street Program.
Olympic Peninsula Apple and Cider Festival 10/10-10/12
Use Chevy Chase Beach Cabins as your base for the Olympic Peninsula Apple & Cider Festival. This annual agritourism event is a fun celebration of the season and tastes of the region - showcasing some wonderful local businesses. There are several events including cider tastings, delicious food, live music and more, a Fall Fire Party at Propolis, Finnriver Apple Day, a Maker’s Market and more. Learn more and get tickets here. Port Townsend Sip & Stroll 10/2
Grab your friends or family and head to Port Townsend for the annual Sip & Stroll on Thursday, October 2nd. Enjoy tastings from local Jefferson County wine, cider, and beer vendors while you explore downtown shops! Support local businesses and then head back to you cozy cabin at Chevy. Wilderbee Farm - U-Pick Pumpkin Patch (Wed-Sun)
October is a great time to stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins, enjoy our cozy cabins, fall colors and one of our favorite annual traditions to kick off the fall season - a visit to the family run Wilderbee Farm to pick out pumpkins. They open Saturday, September 24th and are then open 12-5 Wednesdays through Sundays. While you are there you can also feed the British Soap sheep, explore the nature trails and the adults can sip some mead at their gorgeous tasting room (tasting room open on weekends Sat and Sun 12-5). You can also check out the Dharma Ridge U-Pick patch on the weekends.
26th Annual Port Townsend Film Festival 9/18-9/21
The Port Townsend Film Festival is the oldest, largest film festival on the Olympic Peninsula. Enjoy films, workshops, filmmaker meet and greets, outdoor movies, music and more. Learn more here.
Jefferson County Farm Tour: 9/13 - 9/14
The 23rd annual Jefferson County Farm Tour.is presented by the Production Alliance in partnership with WSU Jefferson County Extension and local farmers. The weekend celebrates locally grown food and farm-made products. It is a fun opportunity to engage with and support local farmers. Pets are typically NOT allowed on tours. Concerts on the Dock (THURSDAYS) 7/10 - 8/28
A free outdoor concert series at in downtown Port Townsend at Pope Marine Plaza featuring primarily local bands on Thursdays starting July 10th through August 28th. The concerts take place from 5:00-7:00 pm and include a beer/wine/cider garden and local vendors. Get more info and see the lineup here.

Kinetic Sculpture Race - 10/5 - 10/6
Experience the 40th Great Port Townsend Bay Kinetic Sculpture Race in Port Townsend. Saturday’s festivities start at noon beginning with a parade downtown, followed by a water portion of the race. Saturday evening there is a Koronation Ball with entertainment, music and more. Sunday the race continues. Learn More.
